Miles Aldridge - Fashion

Born 1964, Miles is a well known fashion photographer. He started his education doing illustration at Central St Martins college where he briefly directed pop video's until his passion for photography occured. His work has elements from people such as Richard Avedon, Fenelli and David lynch where his work can be found all over the world.
I like his work because of his bright, coloured images. From what I can see he likes to work with females as there are quite a few pictures of them. I find his work quite pop-arty.

David Carson - Graphics

David Carson - Graphics Designer

Born 8th of September, 1954, who was an American graphics designer. He is a very popular graphics designer who's work can be found all over the country. He was most famous for being the art director for "Ray Gun" magazine. I like to identify his work as quite explosive and "toned down colours". His typography is really unique because his composition usually comes off the page.

Simon Norfolk - Photography

Simon Norfolk - War Landscape Photographer

This is a new photographer which I had never heard off until now. His work consists of documenting abstract war scenes or normal war scenes. I find his work really interesting because he makes his work almost symmetrical. He was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1963 and finished his education at Oxford, you can find his work in museums and galleries all over the country.

Richard Avedon - Photograph

Richard Avedon is probably my favourite portrait photographer off all time. He is unique in the fact of documenting people without a pose. He was born on the 15th of May 1923 and deceased in october 2004. The famous photographer was born and raised in New York and grew up relatively wealthy. His father, Jacob Isreal Avedon, who was an immigrant, made a successful dress business. He has documented some of the most famous people who lived throughout his time and I decided to include Louis Armstrong (Up) and The Beatles

Park Sunset - Photography

I took this photo in the summer of 2012 and mapped a purple and yellow tint over the top. I really like this photo.

Andy Potts - BBC Proms illustration

I found this piece in the library and find it very interesting. I thought this stood out the most because of the way that he had used the colours, brightly ad vibrant. There looks like there are a lot of layers so my guess is this was a very complex piece of art to compose. Andy Potts can be quite graphical in his illustrations but works really well.

David Hughes - Illustration

I had the choice to choose between 6 artists to research and this guy stood out the most. His work is very broad and is described to be a "Graphics designer who likes to illustrate". His work can be found in Punch, The Observer and The new Yorker.

I like this piece because of the scratchy lines and the flat-coloured ink. It is very unique because off the way he brings humour into the piece. I also like the way that the heads are done, they have been distorted which works well. It looks like Barack Obama and Gordon Brown are in it. The only part I dislike is the composition, it does not look very thought through.
